Maritime Industry Friends:

We hope all is well and everyone is enjoying the holiday season.  It has been great to reconnect with all of you over the last few months at the two events at South Branch and the COMA holiday luncheon.

As we discussed at the last event, we feel with the interest and turnout that we are ready to move forward with re-activating the charter for the Port of Chicago Propeller Club.  As it stands, there are currently no active chapters for the International Propeller Club in Illinois or in the western Great Lakes region along the Lake Michigan coastline.  By the response to the two events, we see that having a formal chapter will serve an important need for industry information sharing, networking, and socializing.

At this point, we would like to get individual membership commitments to create a roster of the number of people needed (25) to get a charter from the International headquarters in Washington.  From there, we will move forward with fundraising from corporate sponsorship, establishing an Executive Board and an operations committee, to establish a bank account, collect dues, and plan events for the 2024 calendar year. We are projecting an annual membership fee of $150 to move forward and will provide some corporate membership/sponsorship plans in the near future.

If you are willing to commitment to membership, please email myself and Ben Pinnington at chicagopropellerclub24@gmail.com with your contact information and consent to list you on the membership roll for submission.  You can also direct message us on LinkedIn.

We look forward to the continued collaboration among all of the stakeholders in the industry in 2024.

Cheers!
